Arleta Medical Marijuana Patient Reviews

VP's of Arleta offers great value and friendly ambience. I am only a customer for the last month and a half (since a slew of places had to close on June 7, including my 2 favorites). I am not the type to just depend on 1 store. I formerly had 2 I had selected for wide spectrum selection in total THC medicine shopping. I am still looking for my 2nd store. None of the others I've checked out have really won me over with a combo of price/quality/friendliness/hospitality like my 2 past places, both closed, and VP which is still happily open and going strong. I am so glad I found it!

It's tucked discreetly in a strip-mall, and you are permitted security entrance by a manager (possibly the owner, but I didn't want to bug him by asking). He's a cool dude in shades who quickly offers you a Jolly Rancher or Starburst candy while he checks your papers and ID. Rules are strictly followed here, edibles are no longer sold because of regulations/costs of the mandated commercial kitchen. But the quality is honestly excellent, and the prices are generally righteous, with lots of little goodies for all customers, returning and new. Free papers, Starbursts or Jolly Ranchers are only the beginning.

They have a sweet mild green strain of bud, aptly named Lemon Haze, and although it has a lighter effect, it is a tasty delight, perfect for a moderate "wake and bake" with your morning coffee on a nice, easy day off. Sure, it's cheap, but it is no waste of high-time. It makes a nice break away from the heavier stuff, which VP has plenty of. They also have, usually 1 at a time, varying shakes for different prices per 8th, depending on the strength. They recently added Black Rose and it is a winner. Solid quality and nice, musty aroma. They have a "hard" cap, and they usually only have 2-3 at that price (usually extra-high-power Indicas like Louis XIII, etc).

Then they have another price tier, their largestand most popular. There's lots of powerful meds here, including some excellent sativas as well as Indicas, with always at least 2 or 3 "hot" hybrids. They also have some neat kief. Tasty. All Bud is on display in fully-labeled glass canisters the customer is invited to pick up and take a whiff of. This category includes many favorites like White Widow, Purple Kush, Alaskan Thunder, potent Banana Kush, Purple FX/Nice FX, some OGs, Super-Jack (one of my favorites), Blue Dream (or was it Blue Moon, sorry, I'm not sure now), and a bunch of other strains. Lots of turnover here. If you like a particular strain you got at VP's, you'd better go back soon if you want it again. I waited a day too long and they had just run out of the Super-Jack when I went back. But I understand why, the SJ was brilliant. Top-shelf sativa, but at a 2nd-tier price. The Super-Jack, was darn close to, if not a magnitude-8 on my own personal "Bud scale".

I haven't even tried their top-price bud yet. I just don't need anything stronger than I've found at the 2nd-tier price at VP. I imagine their highest must really be super-strong and pretty dank, but their cheaper bud has been keeping me happy and medicated with no desire to even check out the higher price. What does that tell you?

VP's is, in my words, a full-service store. They sell many different strains of cloned plants in nursery pots and hydroponic containers for growing. They also apparently do special orders for patients who want to buy all 8 of their legally-permitted plants in a prepared palette to take home and grow discretely with legal and lawfull Prop 215 permission. Store staff are able to give various growing advice and tips. VP staff has repeatedly given me price breaks/deals/samples every time I've gone there, like spontaneously knocking down my 8th of FX Bud to $40. Darn good Bud, too. They usually give me 1.3 grams for $5 cheaper than the posted price, as a repeat customer. I don't purchase as often as some folks, but I do usually spend $50 or so per visit, so that may help.

Ignore the past reviews if not relatively recent, probably good advice for any dispensary. VP's is good right now, July, 2010. Hopefully, it will endure and thrive.

I don't know what the previous reviewer could be talking about. Valley Patients has the best prices and weights in the valley and you are never short when you walk out of there. You always get the kinfolk count.

And the eatables are outstanding, cost-effective medication.

The 3 brothers that own Valley Patients are really doing the co-op thing right. When they went from buying flowers to using their own grow space to reduce their cost, they didn't keep the difference. They dropped their prices 25%. That speaks volumes about their commitment to their patients.

Valley Patients. Down home atmosphere. Best prices anywhere. As good as it gets.

Make sure they weigh out concentrates in front of you!! You'd think because they are already pre-weighed, than they are on point, but they're not! More than two times I've been stiffed on over-expensive hash.
