OC NORML Laguna Beach Rally of 2009

There is currently a bill in the state assembly known as AB390 that would legalize marijuana in a way similar to our current alcohol laws. Also Barney Frank recently announced proposed legislation to legalize cannabis nationwide. His bill has 16 cosponsors, including two Republicans (Ron Paul and Dana Rohrabacher). Barney Frank has been fighting this battle for a long time, and has introduced similar legislation in every Congress since 1995.(can you say legalized cannabis?).
Other Barney Frank legislation would prevent federal authorities from interfering with medical marijuana in states that have legalized it. We support that! If you also support marijuana legalization, NOW is the time to get active.
A California initiative is underway that would treat cannabis similar to our alcohol laws. Trust me, this is the “fast track” to legalization. The time to influence public opinion starts NOW so we can win in Nov of 2010. Imagine /// Dream/// see legal marijuana as part of your future …… police who leave you alone …….thousands released from jail ….. pot bars where you can toke with friends ….. pot smokers coming out of the closet …… lower cost, higher quality marijuana ….. all this could be a reality next year!!!
So do something, join the rally, paint signs and donate them to ocnorml, or email mark to explore special projects where you can help advance the cannabis crusade, be part of the marijuana revolution. 40 people (a common rally attendance) make a good rally, but I like to imagine the effect of 40 people on each side of the street, holding signs and sending a strong message to the public. You may be a little shy for sign holding and just want to talk about pot with friends and ocnorml members, or you may just wish to “hang’ with us and give moral support, That’s ok ……come on down.
In any event, please consider parting with some of your valuable Saturday time and come out to support Mary Jane. Enjoy a day at the beach with friends …… you’ll be glad you did.
