Court Support Needed For Virgil Grant
| By DPFCA | Published March 22, 2010 |
Greetings LA Patients and Providers,
I strongly encourage you to please attend the federal sentencing hearing for LA dispensary operator Virgil Grant this Monday, March 22, 2010, in downtown Los Angeles at 312 North Spring Street.
Virgil was charged with dozens of counts that he and his attorney were ready to defend, however, he never got the chance. Under duress he made a plea agreement to prevent his wife from being charged and any subsequent harm to her or the children. The case moves directly to the sentencing phase.
Virgil's counsel, Roger Rosen, is said to be well respected by the court as well as an excellent defense attorney. This will the first opportunity for the defense to make any arguments. It should be very interesting to see what is presented and allowed.
Court support is always extremely educational. You will get a good insight to the tactics of federal officers and prosecutors. But most importantly, it means the world to Virgil and his family to have your support. Your presence in the courtroom does matter: to Virgil, the judge and the prosecutors. It's a bit different theater when there's an audience. I hope to see you there.
Sincerely,
