Americans for Safe Access (ASA) would like to invite medical cannabis supporters to a Community Forum on Medical Cannabis on Saturday, January 16, in West Hollywood. The purpose of the forum is to discuss recent developments regarding regulations for patients’ associations in Los Angeles and other communities; and what comes next in the campaign for safe access.
Medical cannabis attorney Allison Margolin will be our special guest speaker for the forum. Allison is a graduate of Harvard Law School who specializes in medical cannabis and drug law cases. She is on the front line of the effort to protect patients and providers in California, and brings an insider’s perspective on the legal system to the forum. We will also be hearing about court and prison support for medical cannabis defendants from Sarah Armstrong of the Landa Prison Outreach Program.
Topics to be discussed on Saturday include:
· What new regulations in Los Angeles are likely to include
· What patients and advocates can do to influence their elected officials
· How to talk about medical cannabis to the media and community
· What is happening next on the local, state, and federal level
· Is there a new federal policy on medical cannabis?
There will also be an open forum for all attendees to speak.
