City Council To Debate On Ordinance Regarding Collective Regulations
| By Americans for Safe Access | Published December 9, 2009 |
We need medical cannabis supporters back at Los Angeles City Hall again on Wednesday, December 9, to make a last minute stand against unreasonable restrictions on safe access. The City Council approved amendments today requiring that medical cannabis patients’ associations be located 1,000 feet from a laundry list of sensitive uses – including any property used as a residence. That could exclude virtually all of the city’s commercial zones! Despite significant progress in improving the city’s draft ordinance, this surprise change could make it nearly impossible to establish a legally organized and operated collective in the city!

Americans for Safe Access (ASA) is calling on medical cannabis patients and advocates to come back to Los Angeles City Hall on Wednesday, December 8, when the City Council takes up debate again on a controversial draft ordinance regulating patients’ collectives. This may be the last debate before they vote.
